The operating mechanism is mainly used to control the start, stop, brake, speed change, reversing of each actuator and control various auxiliary movements, such as indexing, positioning, feeding and clamping.
The operating mechanism is generally composed of the following four parts:
Operating member: a mechanical part that generates operating movement or sends operating signals.
Transmission device: transmits the operating movement from the operating member to the actuator.
Control member: controls the actuator of the operating mechanism to move in the required direction and stroke.
Actuator: a mechanical part that moves the operated part.
Types and characteristics
The operating mechanism can be divided into single operating mechanism and centralized operating mechanism:
Single operating mechanism: its operating member can only control one actuator, the advantages are short transmission chain, simple structure, easy manufacturing and maintenance, but inconvenient to use.
Centralized operating mechanism: one operating member controls multiple actuators, which is easy to use, can shorten the operating time and improve productivity, but the structure is complex.
Specific application examples
For example, the swing-type operating mechanism moves the sliding gear axially by turning the handle through the rotating shaft, swing rod, and slider. This mechanism has a simple structure and is widely used. The mobile operating mechanism uses a fork with a guide rod or a guide hole, an axial pull rod and a pin to move the operated part, which is suitable for operating sliding gears with a large travel.
